4" Alocasia Gageana Aurea

Alocasia Gageana Aurea (Alocasia gageana ‘Aurea Variegata’)

Alocasia Gageana Aurea is a highly sought-after variegated Alocasia with bold green foliage splashed, marbled, and sectorally variegated in shades of yellow, lime, and golden chartreuse. Every new leaf can emerge with a completely different pattern, making this one especially fun to watch grow.

Compared with some of the enormous Elephant Ear varieties, Alocasia gageana has a more manageable growth habit while still producing large, dramatic tropical foliage. Give it plenty of bright indirect light to help support its colorful variegation.

Care Tips:
☀️ Light: Bright, indirect light is best for maintaining strong variegation, avoid harsh afternoon sun
💧 Water: Allow the top 1 to 2 inches of soil to begin drying between waterings, avoid soggy soil
🌫 Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity with good airflow
❄️ Temperature: Thrives around 65 to 85°F, protect from cold drafts
🐾 Pet Friendly: No
⭐ Rare: Yes

Fun Fact:
“Aurea” refers to the plant's golden-yellow variegation. Because the pattern can vary dramatically from leaf to leaf, you never really know how much yellow the next leaf is going to throw at you. 💛🌿
