Red Maranta (Maranta leuconeura var. erythroneura)
Red Maranta, commonly called the Red Prayer Plant, is loved for its beautifully patterned foliage featuring deep green leaves, lighter green markings, and striking red veins. Its low, spreading growth habit makes it perfect for shelves, tabletops, or hanging planters where the foliage can trail as it matures.
It appreciates consistent moisture and humidity but is relatively easygoing once you find the right spot for it.
Care Tips: ☀️ Light: Bright, indirect light; tolerates medium light but avoid harsh direct sun 💧 Water: Keep soil lightly and consistently moist, allowing the surface to dry slightly between waterings 🌫 Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity ❄️ Temperature: Thrives around 65–80°F; protect from cold drafts 🐾 Pet Friendly: Yes ⭐ Rare: No
Fun Fact: Marantas are called Prayer Plants because their leaves move throughout the day and often lift upward at night, resembling hands folded in prayer. 🌿🙏
