Argentine Saguaro (Echinopsis terscheckii)

Argentine Saguaro, also known as the Argentine Giant Cactus or Cardón Grande, is an impressive columnar cactus with thick, blue-green stems lined with prominent ribs and clusters of golden to brown spines. Its classic desert silhouette closely resembles the famous Saguaro cactus, but it’s actually a completely different species native to South America. Given plenty of sun and time, it can develop into a massive, branching specimen.

It’s a hardy, low-maintenance cactus that thrives with strong light, excellent drainage, and minimal watering.

Fun Fact:
Despite the name “Argentine Saguaro,” this cactus isn't a true Saguaro. It earns the nickname because mature plants develop the same towering, branched desert-tree appearance—and can eventually grow over 30 feet tall outdoors. 🌵
