Despite its name, the Ponytail Palm isn't actually a palm at all! It's a drought-tolerant succulent native to Mexico, with an enlarged trunk that stores water for dry periods. This built-in water reservoir makes it incredibly forgiving of missed waterings and an excellent choice for beginners, busy plant parents, and anyone who prefers a low-maintenance houseplant. It grows slowly, loves bright light, and is even pet friendly!

Care Tips:
☀️ Light: Bright, indirect light to direct sunlight. A sunny window is ideal. Can tolerate medium indirect light, but is not recommended for low-light spaces
💧 Water: Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Its thick trunk stores water, making it very drought tolerant. Avoid overwatering
🌫 Humidity: Average household humidity is perfectly fine. No additional humidity needed
❄️ Temperature: Prefers 65 to 85°F. Protect from freezing temperatures and prolonged exposure below 50°F
🐾 Pet Friendly: Yes, non-toxic to cats and dogs

Fun Fact:
The Ponytail Palm's swollen trunk is called a caudex, and it acts like a built-in water storage tank! Despite its palm-like appearance, this plant is actually more closely related to asparagus than to true palm trees. Who would've guessed? 🌴🌿
