Rhipsalis Dancing Bones (Hatiora salicornioides)
Rhipsalis Dancing Bones is a branching cactus with segmented, bottle-shaped stems that create a loose, cascading form. The joints give it a slightly playful, almost skeletal look, especially as it fills out and trails over the edges of a pot. It has a softer, more tropical feel compared to typical desert cacti.
It’s easygoing and works well in spots where you want something trailing without sharp spines.
Care Tips:
☀️ Light: Bright, indirect light; can handle some gentle direct sun
💧 Water: Allow the top 1–2 inches of soil to dry between waterings
🌫 Humidity: Prefers average to higher humidity
❄️ Temperature: Thrives in 60–80°F; avoid cold drafts
🐾 Pet Friendly: Yes
Fun Fact:
Unlike most cacti, Rhipsalis are native to tropical forests and often grow as epiphytes on trees rather than in dry desert soil.
