String of Pearls (Curio rowleyanus)
String of Pearls is a quirky trailing succulent known for its long strands of round, bead-like leaves that look just like tiny green pearls. Its cascading growth makes it perfect for hanging baskets, tall shelves, or anywhere those strands have room to spill dramatically over the edge.
Give it plenty of bright light, fast-draining soil, and a chance to dry between waterings. The biggest danger to this plant is usually loving it a little too much with the watering can.
Care Tips:
☀️ Light: Bright, indirect light with some gentle direct sun for best growth
💧 Water: Allow the soil to dry thoroughly between waterings; avoid keeping it consistently moist
🌫 Humidity: Prefers average to lower household humidity with good airflow
❄️ Temperature: Thrives around 60–80°F; protect from frost and cold drafts
🐾 Pet Friendly: No
⭐ Rare: No
Fun Fact:
Those little “pearls” aren't just cute, they're specialized succulent leaves that store water. Each one even has a tiny translucent window that helps sunlight reach deeper into the leaf. 🌿🟢
